The First Volume in the Novel of a Thousand of Volumes
Almaty, KZ, 2019
The first book of Sergey Kalmykov’s texts published in Kazakhstan
This book opens a multi-volume project devoted to the texts and drawings of the Soviet and Kazakhstani artist, writer, inventor, and visionary Sergey Kalmykov (1891–1967).
The first volume, compiled by Alexandra Morozova, brings together Kalmykov’s key theoretical writings on practical genius, a selection of speculative and science-fiction essays, as well as his foundational “Eight Laws of Composition,” which form the basis of his artistic and philosophical method.
The publication was produced as part of a joint project by ORTA and Vlast Publishing House, within a broader initiative to manifest Sergey Kalmykov’s literary practice. All texts were provided by the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
