Due to the war of Russia against Ukraine, the works for Kazakhstan’s pavilion did not arrive in time for the opening week of the Venice Biennale, making it impossible for ORTA to launch and present the originally conceived Centre for the New Genius during the opening days. In response, ORTA developed an adaptive performative and architectural environment — the Temporary Temple of the New Genius.

 

Within the Temple, ORTA conducted interactive performative events titled Spectacular Experiments twice daily throughout the opening week. These participatory rituals were designed to activate the Inner Genius of visitors and to generate experiential data, later integrated into the ongoing development of the Centre for the New Genius.
