Rustem Begenov’s authorial radio show explored figures who transcended the conventional boundaries of theatre, music, painting, literature, and science, venturing instead into the open ocean of previously unimagined arts.
For the first time in the history of Kazakhstan radio, the show also introduced contemporary academic music ranging from Arnold Schoenberg and Igor Stravinsky to John Cage and Philip Glass.
57 episodes broadcast on Kazakhstan’s Classic Radio between 2017 and 2020, the program was devoted to such figures as Marcel Duchamp, Tatsumi Hijikata, Sergei Diaghilev, Marina Abramović, Boris Yukhananov, Heiner Goebbels, and others.
