The Theory of New Genius

The Theory of New Genius is a documentary film developed within ORTA’s New Genius methodology, tracing the launch of ORTA’s First Atomic Bombreflector.

Directed by Taisiya Krugovykh and the duo Gogol’s Wives, the film follows the preparation and presentation of Zen-Extravaganza The First Atomic Bombreflector in pre-war Moscow, situating the project within the operational logic of the New Genius.

The film also documents the NONAME international decolonial festival, curated by Elena Kovalskaya at the Meyerhold Center—her final festival at the institution. It captures a cultural moment on the verge of rupture, shortly before the Center’s closure and the dispersal of its team.

The film had its world premiere at the Message to Man International Film Festival.
